Venlo, with a population of over 100,000, is located at the economic heart and logistic hotspot of Europe. This strategic location and leading position in Western Europe is unique because of the hinterland of 55 million consumers within 200 kilometres (outer circle of figure on next page) and multimodal access by road, water and rail. In the Venlo region there is a large potential for high-qualified labour supply, flexible and motivated multilingual employees and adequate education. Venlo is also awarded the best city centre of all mid-sized cities in the Netherlands. This endorses Venlo as a really attractive living environment.

Historically, Venlo is a location with a very strong logistics & agriculture and Food functionality and reputation. Good examples are the business parks Trade Port West and Fresh Park Venlo, which are home to many international trading companies. Besides these companies, we also have a large number of horticulture companies in the international fruit and vegetable sectors. Since the 1980's and the arrival of logistics service providers such as Seacon, DSV, UPS, DHL and Geodis, the focus has shifted towards other strong logistics sectors like fashion, e-commerce, electronics, and medical technology products and services. Thanks to these sectors, the region has a great diversity of national and international companies within these sectors. Some examples of the logistics operations of international companies are Stryker, Tommy Hilfiger, Viking, Arrow, Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition and Océ / Canon.

It will be the next logistics complex in Europe to be awarded a BREEAM Outstanding 5-star certificate. The building will incorporate sustainable materials, automatic dimming LED lighting, triple-insulated glazing, additional insulation in walls and roofs and a gas heat pump for the office. The roof will be prepared for 40,000 m² of solar panels, to be fitted in the future.
