DOKVAST develops highly sustainable distribution centre in Midden-Limburg

‘We are pleased to have secured this huge plot in the Midden-Limburg Business Park. It offers us the possibility of implementing an extensive European Distribution Centre (EDC) in this regional logistics hotspot in Europe. The land offers a good opening and high-profile locations due to its direct location on the A2, A73 and N276’ according to Jos Klanderman, Managing Director of DOKVAST. Companies like Action and All4Car are established on the Business Park of about 40 hectares. Even Truck Service Simons will set up on the land, the new construction will be started in autumn.

Long-term cooperation
DOKVAST is supported in renting, designing and implementing the DC by Raimond Weenink brokerage business, Habeon Architecten and Heembouw. Long-term cooperation: these parties already implemented the highly sustainable distribution centres for Nokia and Tesla Motors in Tilburg. These parties are certified with a BREEAM Outstanding (five-star) rating and may be called the two most sustainable DC’s of Europe.

Building Dashboard App
Even the new DC in Echt-Susteren has BREEAM certification. Durable materials, energy-saving LED lighting, triple insulated glass, very well insulated façades and roofs will be used, among other things, and a heat pump will be applied. Even the roof is made suitable for placing sun panels in the future. DOKVAST has developed a unique Building Dashboard App, which identifies clearly the consumption and financial effects of different sustainable savings measures for future tenants. The electricity, gas and water meter readings per unit, department or the entire building can be viewed via the app. Even maintenance, repair requests and failures can be notified in a very user-friendly manner via the iPad. All new large-scale projects of DOKVAST are equipped with this Building Dashboard as a standard configuration.
