2013-07-1

The new, sustainable premises covering 47,000 square metres are currently under construction on the industrial estate Vossenberg West II by the Wilhelminakanaal, Tilburg. Since October, around 150 employees have been working here. The new cooperative partnership between DB Schenker Logistics and the mobile communication giant is thus making a valuable contribution towards employment opportunities in the region of Tilburg. The new logistics centre is the third location for DB Schenker Logistics in Tilburg.

The strategic location of the EDC signifies rapid connections via the roads, water and railways to destinations throughout Europe. Project developer DOKVASTĀ is aiming to achieve a ‘BREEAM Outstanding’ classification for the construction of the new logistics centre. BREEAM is an internationally accepted certification system that evaluates the sustainability performance of buildings.

“Not only our logistics solution, including multimodal transport, but also the stunning new eco-site persuaded the client to outsource logistics activities to DB Schenker Logistics” explains Bart Coenen, Senior Vice President Contract logistics. “Sustainability is a top priority for DB Schenker. It is great to work with a partner that shares these values.”
