“We are in discussions with numerous interested parties”, said a spokesperson for DOKVAST. “However, no concrete agreements have yet been made. For the time being, we are building at our own cost and risk.” The company will not reveal the extent of its investment. DOKVAST was previously involved in the construction of the large distribution centre for DB Schenker Logistics on the Vossenberg West II industrial estate. This complex was taken into operation as the European distribution centre for Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) at the end of October. Another large distribution centre is to be built not far from this new commercial zone. Construction starts this month. The large complex is scheduled to be delivered at the end of September.

“There are several organisations that could use the distribution centre”, continues the DOKVAST spokesperson. “But for the time being, we would prefer it to be used by a business.” According to the designer, there is certainly interest in this type of large distribution centre. “Otherwise, we wouldn’t be risking our money.” Many of the parties collaborating on the new building plan were also involved in the European distribution centre for Nokia Solutions and Networks, such as Heembouw from Roelofsarendsveen (building) and Habeon Architecten (design).

“The two distribution centres will not look exactly the same”, stress the DOKVAST spokesperson. "The facades will be different, for example. And this will give a completely different appearance.” We will, however, once again be building in an energy-efficient manner. "Last year, on behalf of DOKVAST, the most sustainable distribution centre in the Netherlands was constructed at Vossenberg West II”, says the developer. “We will be striving to attain the same, high ambitions with this new building plan”

This involves a new distribution centre of around 50,000 square metres. Construction starts this month.
